Rebar is a special kind of steel used in concrete forming for industrial, commercial and residential construction. It is rarely used outside of construction due to its nature and difficult working properties. Torches, furnace ovens, and hydraulic bending machines are the only way to shape and bend the steel into precise furniture designs.

Troy Smith provides us with a collection of unique pieces held together with one-inch solid steel rebar, each piece is either powder-coated or electroplated. Other materials used in this collection include suede, Macassar Ebony, old reclaimed wood, glass, and marble.

While being sculptural in appearance, these items are functional pieces that are solid, strong, and built to last.
